HIV Infection Control in General Practice

Much, if not most, of the detection, counselling and medical care of HIV infection in Australia is occurring in general practice. Past political antics which have made private doctors in NSW reluctant to notify early HIV infection as well as the high profile taken by public “AIDS” services have to a large extent masked this fact.
